I finally got my H/C, ported TB/MAF, full exhaust and dyno tune (402 rwhp) on an A4.
I could not hook to save my life! with a terrible 2.2 60' I turned 12.8 @ 111 mph on street tires. I need to work on my driving skills and probably invest on some dr's. It's a work in progress!!

I went with patriot heads and comp cam. I can give you all my specs if you need them. I had a "daily driver" set up, since that's what my car is.

Gettin it to hook? Kilr, did you try tire pressure adjustments? In my C5Z it planted best at 27psi. I'm on the road so didn't see the post last night. Just a thought before you ante up for the Dr's.

Thanx for the psi suggestion Dandy D. I thought about it but didn't know what would work best, now I know, I'll try it! As far as my specs, 2000 corvett, my heads are patriot's stage II w/59 cc chamber. My cam is a comp cam XR265HR-15 grind, which is a 212/218 .558/.563 @ 115. Bought the heads through byunspeed for $1300 and the cam for $475 from texas speed. Hope this helps!

Yes, the one you are looking at is bigger than mine, but remember, bigger isn't always better. It depends what the car's purpose is. Mine is a daily driver and I prefer better tunability and driveability than "BIG" numbers to the wheels. I think I got pretty good numbers (402rwhp) on my A4 for as small as my cam is, but it's all in the combination and the tunning. I will tell you from my experience, 465 to the crank is still a lot of power and hard to put it to the ground. But again, like I said before, think about what you want your car for, not on what kind of numbers to the wheels you want. You might be dissapointed later on! Good Luck!!

yea the car might see little drag strip time but the main purpose os to get that huge lumpy cam sound ive only heard good things about the g5x3 but i understand why you would like good drivability i would to but i guess i wouldnt mind giving up some

I heard that your tires can come apart at high speeds with the air pressure reduced. Is that true or is 27 a safe range for the 1/4 mile?

not running a stall. I don't want to loose power at top end. This is my daily driver not a track only car.

A 2.2 second sixty foot is obviously terrible (been there done that), but that doesn't explain a 111 MPH trap speed.

Were you on and off the throttle several times during the run?

I found myself doing that several times because I was trying to hook; otherwise, I would spin my tires. Then I would realize, oh s**t, I need to floor this thing already!! I'll get there, it's a matter of practice for me.

Hey Klrbee,
Off vacation (took it in my Z, 5,897miles! and never a hiccup!)
I am running a pretty mild cam by todays standards 226dur/.585 lift @112lsa with 3 degrees advance, which works out to 109lsa. I am running 60cc heads for a static cr of 11.38:1. Kooks long tubes with cat delete X pipe and stock mufflers. At 850rpm the sucker HITS! as the revs go up the sound goes with it. No resonance and it does buck some in traffick. I drove through Los Angeles downtown San Francisco an San Diago with no issues. At sea level with 93 octane gas I am putting 446 to the tires. I got a best of 30.9mpg and a worst of 26.9mpg on the trip. That is not driving over a hundred or (too often) nor was I trying for mileage. Your cam is just fine for making it go and if you are getting 400hp or better to the wheels that is not bad at all. If you want the exhaust to "HIT" have the tuner to lower the idle just a little, it will get you there.
Someone asked about safe tire pressure, for the quarter mile the 20s are safe, 27 is wher mine made the best footprint so that is why I used it. Just experiment and don't be afraid to put a little heat in the tire either. I didn't go to the track before our trip just to save the clutch and tires but I am home now so I will be back to the track in the next couple of weeks, or when the weather here in south Louisiana permits.
Will post up my times when I get to the track.
Gotta love someone who "drives" their Vette.
Good luck

Sounds like you had fun on your trip. Thanx for the advice on the tires, I'll try it next time I go to the track. Good luck at the track and try to take some vids. I would love to hear and see your car run.

Best regards,
Klrbee

Bro if you have the A4 auto driveline loss is 18% your crank hp is 490.24 using 402hp / .82 = 490.24 hp.. What gears are you running?
