The C6 Z06s are the only fixed roof C6s. Unfortunately they look like removable tops also.

I've seen pics of a removable hard-top for the C-6

makes it look like a FRC...for the $ of a conv. :thud:

The only Fixed Top I have seen in the C6 is a picture of the one that is I think Green. The color is simply georgeous. I was just wandering if anyone had seen a Fixed Top C6 or has one in their possession. I have also been told that the C5 has column problems ( just the 01?) . I have also been told not to buy a C5 when I can buy a base sticker C6 and have many more options for just a few bucks more. Closest I have found is 39 G for an 07 and it is not even the color I want. I have a friend in Texas and she got one down to 36 and that is all he would go. I like the Z0. One went today for a 04 with very low mileage for 25 G. I was wandering the problems C5 VS C6 before I drop some money on one or the other. If I do at all. I still have the 2 C3's going on. I am just tired of two project vehicles. One is all one person needs. Unless you are in business of that kind.

I misrepresented the first part of the thread. I meant ZO. That I have realized. Hope they do better with the Retro Corvette. The Old School Boys had the POP TOP Roadsters. Nice Ride. Is that a Ron Fellows Corvette?

No not a Ron Fellows...But I had mine 1st ;)

But I sure wouldn't mind if it was!!

If you want the roadster look, a convertable with an

aftermarket removable top might be just what you'r looking for!

Will that Hardtop Roadster top fit a C5 or C6? I did not know they made such an animal. Have you ever seen the POP TOP on Prowler by Plymouth? They are really appealing. Do they make such a thing? And where do I find one. Because I saw a C6 I really like but I am not too much into a rag top. Mabey Corvette will wake up and make the top retrieve it self and save the owners the problems of the " Stratch Test" when you have had all the fun you can have for the day or night.

They make removable hardtops for the C5 and C6. Not my thing. The retractable hardtop would take too much space and add too much weight IMO.

MY problemo is I never ever sat in or drove one other than a C3. C1 to C3 I have ridden in and sat behind the wheel to get the feel. But not the C4 or todate Corvette. I just like the way the Fix Top C5 Looks. It is just very appealing. I have heard stories about the inside being a total pain to clean and other things. SO, since the Z0 of this generation is so outlandish in its price (but worth every penny to the speed index crowd) , I just want a Cruizzer. I have plans for the C3's and just want to try a C5 for a while waitin on a C6 that mabey the designers will think about us OLD GUYS who had them back then. Wish they would look at Duntov's grave more often and think, did he really mean that? I assure you he did. I absolutely still endear the C3 like yesterday. But I have this thing about a C5 that I cannot get rid of. I shop everyday on e-bay for the one I want. Am I thinking to low at 12,000 for a used C5 or am I asking for trouble? From the threads I have read they are very dependable. The C6 is simply a marvel from any angle and the Cockpit is just amazing. Nice Work GM. Mabey I should say STUNNING. So, I am stuck here with a wanting of a C5 or C6 ( the most I bid was a 31 G for a fixed top with one off rims 03 model year). Butt after realizing there was a "SHILL" involved I denied the second offer. Gotta be careful nowadays .
What should a low mileage C5 Z0 or a C6 base price Corvette go for? :smack

I wish they'd make a fixed roof 1LT Z51 6MN coupe.

A whole lot less than a Z06 even with some bada$$ go mods.
:WTF

I doubt that there is 3 lbs difference between the Z06 roof configuration and the targa top coupes. Exterior look is identical of course.

Hey 7579,
I see you are from Louisiana, if you are close to BR town, I would take you for a ride in my 2004 Z06 FRC so you can get a first hand idea of the interior and performance. I am 62 years young and have no problems with the interior. In fact the wife and I just got back from a 5900 mile 29 day trip from here to the Pcaific coast and zig zagged back home in it.
Drop me an e mail at [email protected] if you are interested.
Cheers, Don

7579, this was taken the day I got it...

I drove it for 2.5 years and loved it. I sold it and bought an E55 AMG for the 4-doors & back seats. The Z was reliable and always a kick to drive. Mine was an '01 and if I were you, I'd look for a low mileage '03 or '04. Super bang for the buck. I am lusting after an '08 Z51 coupe 6MN with the factory exhaust. 436 hp + targa roof... AZ perfect.
