I'm done w/ the spaceframe. Not welding any more tubes in it...I'm done. I figure this will be stiff enough :D All I have to do is add some pedestals for fr & rr sway bars, weld those last remaining sections that need welding and then it's off to the coaters. This all has taken me a good couple of bottles of Ar/CO2 (they are 20L bottles) and spools of wire, I burned my hands quite a few times, got a good facial burn from tack welding LOL but it was all worth it. Pics got approved here lightning fast also so I can bore you with them  :rolling:

..rats the thumbnails are approved, the large pics not yet. Will edit post later and add them

A bunch of older pics can be seen here... you'll need flash player 8 at least to view it though

Ah OK LOL

Well, this is my spaceframe :D designed by me, built by me and hopefully as stiff as a teenagers you know what LOL. Testing showed a dramatic improvement, there is no noticable deflection when on jackstands and loading the frame w/ weight on a large beam. If I jack 1 corner up 3 wheels come off the ground :)

The entire car is completely hand built, there are only a couple of stock parts left. The suspension and steering is all custom made by me :D It has 4 corner full coil overs, tubular double a arm suspension front and rear, full 5 stage dru sump oiling, a lowred floor w/ custom subframe and alu floor panels (working on that still), the car will get a full belly pan to make it as smooth as possible.

All the details are listed here, as well as a long list of modifications

So here are the pics

It's supposed to be street legal  it has a license plate :) still has to pas yearly inspection though, but they know nothing about these cars so I'm pretty confident that won't be a problem. I don't see them making a big fuzz about a rollcage, as long as they do't see that I build the susp., braking and steering systems myself :D :rolling:

There are no racing classes here, there's only a couple of tracks and none are really open to the public, there's no GT type racing class or anything. I'm just going to tear up the autobahn and take it down to the ring since you can stomp on it there for a small fee.

I don't have a time table, with the delay of parts every now and then and the project getting more insane every time...I've been working on it forever it seems LOL. But, I am in the final stages of fabrication. I am not going to change anything radical anymore. I just have to finish the interior, the dash and all that stuff, drop the frame off @ the powdercoaters and then I can start assembling it. Most of the parts to go on it are lying ready to go on. It's like a big box of lego, I've had it apart so many times I can put it together with my eyes closed.

If you don't mind me asking.. Where do you live in Holland? I'd like to see (and hear) that car when finished :D

Btw, any pics of the drive shaft? I'm curious to see how it goes to the diff... (or it's just me, but it kinda looks like it goes into the ground before the rear wheels:huh: )

I don't live in Holland, I live in the Netherlands ;) :D I'm in Enschede but I hate "pottenkijkers" :D

the driveshaft is not complete, it's a halfshaft cut in half, I still need to remove the tube and weld the 2 ends back togehter to custom length. It's there just to make sure I build the tunnel with enough room for a 3" 1350 yoked driveshaft. It goes to the diff pinion just like any driveshaft. The design drawing has the driveshaft drawn in there.

Hey TT...did you shorten the wheelbase? That thing seems like it's shorter than stock. And where does the slot car pickup go???
