anyone know anything about a code hkx front spring from 84-87 vette ??? what is the ride quality what stiffness?

Are you looking at a spring that is off the car? Are there any colored markings on the spring itself? Or a GM part number?

The front spring rates on every year Corvette between 1984 and 1987 are different. In 1987 alone there were three different front spring rates (base, Z52, Z51) varying from 296 lb/in to 380 lb/in.

If the spring is in the car look for the suspension RPO number on the RPO sticker (I think it was inside the center console on those models). Look for something like FE1 (or FEx, where x=some numeral).

I'll look in my archives for spring codes that match the "hkx" you list.

i dont see any code matching what you are saying but the spring is marked FJY and is still on the car i was told that the HKX code spring will interchange and be the same rate thats what i need to know is the rate......thanks for help so far
