I'm pulling a DTC-43 ((Knock Sensor Circuit) my EZ-Scan 6000 calls it a "Spark Control Failure").

In the testing section, the directions say to disconnect BOTH knock sensors and the schematic indicates the same. However, in the Knock Sensor System section, its says that the system has only ONE component, the Knock Sensor and shows its location being near the left engine mounting bracket. Hence the confusion.

I'm currently living in an apartment and getting the car up in the air just to check is a bit of a hassle, so it would be great to know how many I need so I can buy what I need BEFORE I run it up the ramps.

;)

There are 2 of the little rascals. If you like I can scan the locations for ya. Send me a PM with your e-mail address if you would like to have the info.

Knock sensors on SBC are always installed in the hole formally used for the drain plug(s)
If two KS installed then are in the same location on either side of engine
