Having a problem with my 89-

As soon as I get it up to 100km/h (60 for you Yanks  ) I get a massive loss of power, and it refuses to go any faster, and in fact, slows down.
I suspect it's the fuel injectors, as the spark plugs and electrical has been checked and rechecked.

i think your problem is somewhere else as your saying its mph specific, the injectors only know rpms, so you would have the same problem at lets 4000rpm or higher in all gears. not just cruising at 60mph.

Have you pulled the codes yet???

Well, I checked again, it loses power when I plant it, when the RPMs come into the torque band. I suppose I found it related to speed as it doesn't have to rev any higher than a certain rpm in order to hit 60. (and I don't know what codes are, I am a noob  )

Could be a number of things, but it does sound fuel related. How long has it been since the fuel filter was changed? If you don't know then change it. If the car is still the same after the filter swap, get your hands on a fuel pressure guage and go for a ride. The fuel pressure should be between 38-40psi (40-42 key on engine off). If the pressure is good then it's time to look at the injectors.

All of the above is on the presumption that there are no codes (check engine light or SES).

Keep us posted.
