I have a 73 SB and the description of your new fuel pump is the same as the one I have. To work with the factory style fuel line the output side of the pump needs a 90 degree fitting installed. With the fitting added the opening will then point more to the center of the car.

SBC pumps have the ports in different locations for different applications. I would check to see if you have the correct pump for your car. The std pump will work with that engine, you're goign with a carb correct? You should hard pipe it to the carb as well.

Advantage? Rubber lines are attacked by gasoline. Then they leak. Leaking gas + hot engine = fire. or more appropriatly on a Vette
