It appears no one has noticed, but for the last week your "post count" under your avatar has not been displayed.

A post count really doesn't mean anything to me, doesn't make me smarter or dumber, doesn't mean I've had any significant posts, or that I am a contributor to this community.

Unless there is a strong object, I would like to not have post counts show.

The post count could encourage needless posting. After all... it's the quality ... not the quantity of posts that we all seek.

Thoughts?

I noticed this the last few days. I agree that we really don't need the counter. The information is still tracked and if you look in the members profile it has it.

So you got my vote not to have the post counter under the avatar.

I noticed also. The last time I payed attention to post count here, you Patrick were in hyperdrive with in excess of 65k.
How could poor mortals like us ever expect to catch up to that?
I had a plan to reply to posts, 1 word at a time!

We don't need no stinkin post counts...

post count is not a tax credit or a free pass to the movies, so I don't give a rats azz.

Post counts are meaningless to me as well.

I think they foster the smiley posts etc as folks try to up their count without actually contributing anything to the discussions.

No more post counts is a good thing

I also noticed it, and like the others, can take it or leave it.

For those that like the numbers, I have noticed that if you view your profile, or the profile of others, you can get a persons post count.

Just a damned minute here! You told me I'd get frequent flyer miles for every post. How will I know when I get enough for that first class upgrade to Napierville?

Where's the icon for "disgruntled"?

Sadly, a lot of places and people care about post count. I think it's cool that we don't care here!

What else can we NOT care about?
