Just got my 07 C6 Vette keyed this last weekend and wondering how many other Vette owners have had their car keyed? I have only had it for 2 months and was at my girlfriends house, well, ex-girlfriend now but nothing to do with the keying, she lives in a nice area, so don't know why the keying.

I haven't had that pleasant experience yet, but my C6 is only about 2 weeks old. Makes me nervous every time I park in a public area.

What I do get though are people being complete a$$holes to me on the road. Like not allowing me to change lanes, driving 10 under the speed limit to deliberately block me, dirty looks etc...

Anyway, sorry about the sidetrack... did you report the keying? might be worth a call to the cops just to put it on their radar, you never know.

I've had mine keyed before while out on the town. Unfortunately it is part of the territory, my friend. An acquaintance of mine had the sideviews knocked off of his while out one night.

:agree: Oh, hell yeah.....they should include discussion of this kind of lowlife behavior in the driver's manual to forewarn those who may not be aware, because at some point you're gonna get it.....Not if, but WHEN.

I actually have a 100 dollar comprehensive on my insurance, so it is being fixed with my insurance and the cost is 1,800.00 dollars. I have had the same experience with other drivers being , hmmm, not so nice lets say and yes it is jealousy but I just get in front of them and let them see my rear end fly away from them. :buhbye:

All of the hating i hear against really nice cars, especially the vette, makes me a little scared to buy the SS when it comes out. I mean, I'm getting, but I think i'd cry if my 100K+ baby got cosmetically screwed over by some asshole who is hating.

Sorry to hear about the keying, is there any way to protect yourself against it in a financial sense. Can you buy any plans that help ease cosmetic damage fixes, or does it always end up having to be out of pocket expenses like buffing and repainting the car?

My 67 Camaro was keyed big time one night in front of my parents house 35 years ago. Completely down one side and across the rear trunk. Hasn't happened since. Months later a teenage tattletale told me her girl friend did it.

My Corvette has never been keyed, which i would go on a rampage if it ever was and i would be in jail.

Although my old Dodge was keyed in High School back in the day.

WOW, seems like I'm not the only one getting my car keyed. I do have insurance and with the comprehensive part of my insurance I only have to pay 100.00 dollars deductible and it doesn't go against me because it is vandalism. They keying wasn't so bad, he or she keyed the driver side front panel, the door and the side by the driver window, the door and side window key's were small but they were all deep, so no buffing can be done but will have car back on Thursday. So, while car is out I am having my hoodliner painted, see how one can turn a negative into a positive, lol. Thanks for all the reply's.

Are they going to be able to fix the car to a point were the damage is unnoticeable, or did those bastards tarnish your baby permanently short of a side panel replacement? Its this kind of thing that is going to make me scared to drive the SS around once i get my hands on one. If someone did that to my 100K+ car i would cry, for a long time, and god forbid i catch them doing it, cause like someone said, i'd end up doing 25 to life, although i should be able to get a temporary insanity plea due to the circumstances.:smack

same with me, people will ride my bumper or when im at a red light the get real close but i stop a good distance away so i can just keep pulling up untill there not close or they get the hint to stop getting closer:spanked:

To be honest, the car is just a material thing and can always be replaced or fixed. When I was younger I would have flipped out and I would have if I caught the guy doing it but it is fixable and will look just like new. As for those who ride my ass, I slam on my brakes and watch their faces turn white, I say hit me and I will get a Zo6.Can't be too worried out there and especially let the other drivers think they can scare you while driving on your ass. By the way, I have always taken great care of all my cars, so much so that I wash it twice a week and am doing so much more work to this Vette as I am sure all of us Vette owners have a passion to our Vettes. artyon:
