have you ever been frustrated by dealing with total morons?

I went to purchase some diesel fuel today at the local gas station,
I put the credit debit card in the gas pump and select the diesel fuel button and fill the 5 gallon fuel can.
on returning the nozzle to the pump the front panel, on the gas pump, swung open ,
obviously that could indicate an illegal card reader had been installed as the pumps supposed to be sealed and locked with a security tape in place.
so knowing that I walk into the convenience store and notify the owner....
the guy seems less than concerned,
I repeat the problem and point out the pump in question,
I wait outside for about 10 minutes for him to do something,
like place a OUT OF ORDER SIGN ON THE PUMP...
he never came outside.

so knowing my debit card may be compromised,
I call the number on the back of the card...
the idiot on the help desk,
has a problem understanding the relation of past to future,
then even after hearing the problem, explained a second and third time,
wants to go back and verify each purchase,
I made using the card back to the first of JULY...

I try hard to get across that I have no problem with the card or charges made prior to the fuel purchase that day!
he obviously can,t mentally grasp the concept..

I ask if he can lock the card from making any future purchases,
and send me a new card with a new different card number....
he starts to ask if I want to go back and re-verify previous purchases...

I give up and go to the local credit union the debit cards issued by
I talk to the local people at my credit union,
and they at least understand the problem...
and the idea of past ,present and potential future financial risk.
and agree to issue me a new card and lock the old card number,
and not screw with previous purchases or merchants,
but they insist they are short-handed, at the local office,
but if I can stop by, they will issue a new card,
and yes... this may take a couple of minutes.....
I sit and wait.....they come back about every 15-20 minutes to assure me,
they are working on the new card
and after almost 1 hour 30 minute wait...
they do eventually produce a new card.

Every Day, and it seems to me, that it’s getting worse, but then, I’m getting older.....maybe my tolerance level is lowering as I age.......

I always try to patronize businesses that are family run with the employees being family members, or at least long time employees with that business. At least those people care because it's their business. Unfortunately, these businesses are disappearing completely. Of course, this has nothing to do with a credit union or bank anymore, but at one time even banks were family run.

I deal with it on a daily basis. But now just think that 1/2 of the people in this country are below average. That's why they call it the average
