Hey Guys - I am desperate for your help. I have replaced my headlight motor gears with the bfranker brass gears and am now having an issue where my left-front headlight motor intermittently seems to "bind" or "stick". When activated, it just "sticks" and doesn't even try to spin the motor. If I spin the manual motor knob just a tad to loosen it (it does seem pretty tight), it comes up and works fine for a while - then sticks or binds again a day or so later. I have to use the manual knob to get it to work again.

THANKS!

MATT

Is the replacement gear on straight and is it lubricated? Is it the gear that is binding ot the headlight assembly

Thanks for the response! That is a great question - I cannot imagine where (or if) the headlight assembly would be binding. Plus, when it is "stuck", the motor does not even seem to try. It doesn't do anything at all. Again, if I "loosen" the manual knob just a tad, it starts working just fine. I can put it up and down for hours. But if it sits for a while, its back to square one. Its as if with any significant resistance, the motor does not even engage - until the resistance is eliviated by loosening the knob. Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions!!!

That is why I replaced both motors complete and did not just do the gear thing! only about $50.00 more for complete new motor at GM Direct. They have been fine for over 4 years now.
