Why are your heads off to begin with?? Repair work?

The first thing that comes to my mind is a Cam.. I don't know enough about them to suggest one, but I know someone on here can.

New rockers, Roller Rockers with a more aggressive ratio could be done too, but if you put a cam in I don't think you want to change the ratio on the rockers.

You also might consider never putting the heads you have right now back on, and upgrading the heads themselves. By themselves I don't think heads give a huge gain, but when combined with a cam and headers the power increase will be huge.

With your engine taken apart it is probably a good time to plan for future "bolt on" mods by upgrading the internals.

reason for pulling the heads is well I hate to say this:spanked: but it got hot & there's white smoke & I think the way the ls6 heads are there jacketed between the water & oil ports so the oil wont necessarily get milky but I know it's a gasket (hopefully) or god forbid the head itself, did'nt drive after it happened.& still runs fine. thanx for the advise & I'm lookin foreward to more.

i would look to do a mild gasket match (mainly this is if your doing it yourself) and maybe swap in a cam and do headers and an intake manifold aswell as TB and intake.... that would prolly be my budget build, for a more agressive setup i would start looking for someone who has a history of flow bench proven heads and start saving up for a set
