I have a 79 and the tire on the left side sticks out bout an inch and a half more than the right. I checked the shims that are on each side of the control arm to the frame and they are both the same from side to side. It looks like the prolbem is from the control arm out. The drive shaft is centered in the tunnel so the diff. should be centered. please help!:bang

Don't necessarily measure the tie to body distance. Measure the tire inside to the frame distance. That measurement should be real close. That will tell you if you have a mechanical problem. If that distance is the same the the body is not sitting on the frame squarely which could be a major job to realign everything. Also something to consider isif the body has had any damage repaired and the quality of that repair

How long have you owned the car? An inch and a half is alot of difference. Like torch said, measure the distance from the inside of the tire to the frame rail on both sides.
