My dash lights stoped working,the 7.5 fuse heeps blowing. I removed the head light switchand the coil looks good, but the ceramic that houses the coil is cracked, can that be the problem????

you really need to purchase a multi meter and a SHOP MANUAL and look thru the schematics
without testing theres almost no way to locate the source of your problem, yes those parts could be and probably are the source of your problem but they may not be also, testing will tell you

Thanks for your help, I ordered a new switch, dont want to put the old one back and have to take it out again. We will see if that solves the problem.

On alot of GM vehicals, the tailights are also on the dash fuse so if this switch doesn't fix look back there :lookinup:
