Hi all, newb here, not a corvette owner, but using some Vette parts in my project. Car is an 86 Monte SS with a 95 LT1 & T56 trans, 13" C5 Vette brakes up front & 12" Vette rear brakes. A while back I bought a Dana 44, always wanted a Vette IRS in the Monte, & it was a good deal so I bought it. Drove to Tenn from Indianapolis to get it & found out once I got home that one of the mount arms on the rear was bent. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal to get a different one. Then I found out Dana 44 rear covers are going for around $750 - $850, a lot more than I paid for the rear. I have heard about an adapter to allow you to use a D36 cover on a D44 diff. Who sells these? Also is the Viper Dana 44 rear cover the same bolt pattern? I have seen pics & see that the with of the "ears" is narrower. Doesn't really matter to me because I will have to do some frame work anyway.
