Have an 85 Coupe....hood support is poop...can the one from the later C4's be retrofitted...because even if this thing was new...it's way too extended to be very strong...

What does yours look like? On my 87 I have one on the left side and it has a click button that pops out when the hood is open and that is what holds it.

Yea, ya know... that's something else I've been meaning to upgrade on my '85 too.

Mid America sells a conversion kit.

1984-96 Conversion Kits come with all parts and hardware-hood assist cylinders sold separately PN#609-625.

Thanks for the getbacks...I will get that kit and the supports...they look better from a style standpoint and also look way more reliable.
