I looking to completely replace the brake fluid in my 2003 with Z-51 option. Wondering how much it holds? Going to have a local shop do it, but I want to bring my own new fluid so that I know it's fresh and hasn't been sitting around the shop and sucking up moisture.

Checked my service manuals and didn't see any amount listed. I know I need DOT - 3 but don't know how much to buy.

Anybody know?

We run Dot 4 now

I like castrol products

I've hav'nt swapped the whole system yet

Because I'll be doing a clutch soon and I want to do the brakes at time

I bought Castrol GT LMA synthetic Brake fluid for mine

It's about $8 a quart at Pep boys ,

You probably need about half that for the brakes
Delco Supreme 11® Brake Fluid Gm( p/n12377967)

Redline also makes a good product

2 quarts, maybe 3 to be safe. Does the shop not have its own brake fluid to sell you, or are you replacing it with a particular product like ATE?

Thanks guys. I'll probably go with the DOT - 4 as I'm planning on doing some track days soon.

I don't want to use the shops, as I can't be sure it's fresh and I plan on pushing the car hard on the track and I want to know the breaks won't go south.
