I am so mad my hands are shaking. I went to take out my new (key word being new) vette today and I could not get into it. I popped the trunk and got in but the DIC read No Fobs Detected. I assume the battery is dead but I have no idea how, It has been idle for about 4-5 days. This is bad enough but only half the story. We called the dealership and my salesman told me we had to call roadside assistance. We called and they said we would get an automated message when they would get the car. Well instead they called back and said they could not find anyone in their network willing to tow a corvette.:WTF So they called the dealer and the Dealer found someone they use but they will not take it until Mon ... 3 days :WTF So I called the dealer and roadside assistance and ripped them both apart but here i sit with my $60,000 paper weight in my garage. I cannot believe that GM runs a program that cannot find anyone to tow their flagship vehicle, and I cant believe the dealerships dont give a **** attitude. and on top of this I asked them what if my wife was stuck out in the middle of nowwhere, would you tell her to sleep in the car for 3 days and we'll see you monday.

Sorry I really needed to vent

I tried the fob in the glove box and it didnt do anything. Now the message does not even come up on the DIC plus I tried it with both FOBs.
I am thinking about charging the battery but it still has to go to the dealership:nuts: to figure out why it went dead in the first place

I decided to jump start it with a battery charger, It started and everything is fine now I took it out for a ride it was like living a vette dogs video:laughing:

Anyway Im still pissed at the dealership & roadside assistance but I remember why I love the car.

I will let it sit for a while & then try to start it

I would keep a charger on it overnight then see how it holds up afterwords. Sounds like the stock GM batteries are ****. There are many better batteries to choose from.

Hey chili,

I had the exact same problem when I picked up my Z06, "No FOB", and wouldn't start... then pertty much completely dead. Thankfully we were still at the dealer, they charged the battery and I have not had any problems since.

I would go ahead and replace that battery myself, they factory units do have issues from time to time. Saturday morning project, and you're done with it.

Welcome to the "Shitty Chevy service for flagship" Club.
I'm not gonna defend GM, but let me tell you something. I'm on my 3rd BMW and the BMW dealers down here are even worse.

Best story: My friend with an M5 had a dead battery issue and had it towed over to BMW of Houston North. The car "disappeared" on the lot for 3 days. When the dealer located it, the car had 400 more miles on the odometer, a cracked windshield and the ashtray was full of doobies.

Damn BMW, you make Chevy look good!

sucks man

After working at a chevy dealer for 5+ years, I've seen vettes die as fast as 3 days after being put in the showroom. Stock GM batteries are crap sometimes. You should see the look on customers faces when we have to pop the hatch to get in the car. It sucks, but corvettes and all their onboard computers drag them down to the point of killing crappy stock Delco batteries. So do what everyone else says, charge the car, demand a replacement, and use a tender when not using it. cool? I just wish chevy would think about that.

Thanks
I am going to bring it in on Mon, I tried to start it again this morning..does the word paperweight mean anything... So I will charge it and bring it in on Mon, I feel better doing that than lettig someone dolly it and pull it onto a flatbed if I have any more problems I will change the battery myself

Im gonna go look at my paperweight on this beautiful sunny day and imagine what it would be like to actually drive it

See Ya
