seems to only happen when i really get on the car. I think it is coming from the breather but not sure? I hate to take it to the dealer any suggestions?

i had a slow leak from the diff. in my 02 Z06, i took it to the dealer - they knew exactly what the problem was, i understand that it happens to alot of vettes. i believe it's the seal between the transmission and the differential.

more seals have been replaced because of the vent.check fluid level hot and becareful it may be under a little psi.if fluid comes out its too full, its okay if its slightly below.mine breathes out a "leak" if i run it hard.nature of the beast

$700 for a driver's side output shaft differential seal?

Its about a 2-4 hour job in your garage (depending on your experience and assuming you have the tools) and the seal only runs $15-25.

Add another $40 and you can change the diff fluid as well.

Good luck.

5 hr job to be exact. parts were $70.00 total was $570.00 for repair! I don't have the tools nor do i care to take on a 5hr job like this in 115 degree AZ summer! So dealer gets this one for the sake of convience!

Glad you got it fixed. I was just offering an alternative to something I have personal experience in fixing myself. I was not trying to start an argument.

Did the dealer change your differential fluid as well?
