Here's the deal, I have an '84 with around 64k on it. I just got done putting on an X-Ram intake. (What a mickey mouse set up that is. If your thinking about getting one, I would check out other options.) I also put on the bored out TBs. The biggest ones I could find. Plus SS Magna Flow System. The problem is that when I step on it, It wants to die for about 3-4seconds then It goes pretty good. It doesn't always do it, but it seems to more often then not. I put a 85 fuel pump in and changed the fuel filter. I also put in new plugs, wires, cap. I think there might be a little bit of play in the distributer shaft. The X-ram site sells shims so it must be a common Problem with the setup. I was thinking about going to a high proformance Cap, but i don't know if it would be worth the money.

What's your fuel pressure at WOT? Have you checked out the crossfire forum? We have a few crossfire guys here but I hear that place is where all the crossfire knowledge is...

is the forum hes talking about, your BOG is more than likely the result of a momentary LEAN condition, on a carb you increase the accellerator pump voluum, youll need to make a similar change in the fuel rates on a tbi set-up  this generally is approached thru software /map changes On a MPFI like the TPI or similar fuel injection systems but its more difficult with the TBI as theres less versitillityswapping to the higher pressure and voluum 1985 TPI pump tends to help

having a fuel pressure gauge is a great help in diagnoseing the problem, as is a FUEL AIR RATIO METER

and a vacuum gauge

I'm with grumpy on this one. Stock engine and huge TB's might not be helping it.
