What's the best way to get clearance between the timing cover and the water pump. I was pretty sure this would be a problem when I put on a nice, shiney Summit aluminum timing cove which is MUCH thicker than stock. Now I need to create a little clearance between the cover and the pump. Grind the cover? Grind the bolts and edge of the rear cover of the wter pump? Both?

What has worked well for others?

You can make or find a spacer to more the pump out and get a pulley with a deeper bell to line up the belts
