If you are not regularly stopping to browse your local yard sales you're potentially losing out on deals!
one of my neighbors picked up a lightly used engine stand to $55,
he got a set of new chrome BBF (429)valve covers for $20 still in the box.
(he does not even own a ford 385 series BBF engine, but at the price he grabbed them)
and ( made $20 bucks more than he paid, for them, selling for $40,
from the first ford guy he called in the local muscle car club)
he got a working brand name fluke multi meter for $10.
he got a set 4 of 6 ton jack stands for $12 each
and several dozen 1/2" drive , mixed brands, craftsman, snap-on, and some non-brand name sockets for $1 each
the guy wanted more for the brand name sockets but he told them he would buy all he offered at a package deal of $1 each

keep looking you might be amazed if you visit a few every time you can,
yeah 90% of the stuff is CRAP, but theres a few rare gems/bargains to be had.
don,t just look around ASK if they have tools and auto or hunting/fishing related stuff for sale
its not unusual to have some old lady lead you to a pile of stuff in a back garage that she thinks is too heavy to move or of no value
