This should be easy but it's kicking my butt. I am looking for the bulb that lights the a/c heater control panel, it is mounted in the center instrument cluster,at the top above the air vents. it looks like the regular instrument lamp that pushes in,but on the end of the bulb it looks like a projector lens, probably to aim the light straight down.
I can read the # on the bulb it is GE668 or so it appears.
this is on a 78 l82.
anybody have any suggestions or answers.

Okay. You mean where to purchase, or how to change it?

It is a lens-end bulb. I get them from Ecklers.

Well i did a search for kragen and it said "sorry no kragen located in or near Liberty" :thud:

Jeff i saw the one at Ecklers $2.95 for the bulb then ship+handling bulb will probably cost $10.00. But that may be my only choice damit.

It's a shame we're not still working at Red & White hardware. We could have scammed a panel light from a 727. Then you could have had a choice of red or white- or both. On a cool little coiled cord too.

I know. It drove me crazy too. I am in the electrical business, and prob could special order a box of ten. Finally just waited for a larger order, and bought from Eckler's. 4 years, still works. (Buy a spare)

Yes that would have been sweet, they even had some with little green condoms on the end. endless supply of bulb, even had some cool headlights that would light up the night.

the while-im-atit's got me again today so i decided while the shifter consol was out that i might as well take the center panel out and replace bulbs and fix my clock, found a paper on how to service them, cleaned it lubed it and it runs like a clock now :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :smack

I wonder if a guy installed a white LED and made a little reflector for it. You suppose that would put enough light on the problem? LED's run cooler and use less power. I've been thinking about installing LED's in my S-W gauges. The lights are so dim you can't hardly see them at night- and yes, they're turned up all the way..
