About a year ago I changed out the injectors on my 1990 Vette. Once I started it for the first time I was surprised by how loud the new injectors were but I have been told by many people that it is normal. And I did notice a big performance increase.But even when I start disconnection the electronic connections for each injector the sound stays so it makes me think that somehow a piece of trash must of got in to the fuel rail and is bouncing around. Could this happen?

If the engine is running and you only unplug one at a time aren't the other seven still working thus the ticking would never stop?

The stock injectors on both my '96's were REALLY loud. In fact... it's easy to go... hmm.... they are really loud... and start paying to much attention to it, they you think something's wrong.:laughing:

Mine were so loud it sounded like lifters with no valve covers.

Check to make sure you can turn each injector. They are supposed to float in the O-rings. If one of them, or more are jammed in there where they won't turn, it will cause a loud ticking sound. Also, check your fuel pressure, if they are fuel starved it will cause them to tick loudly.

<P>......Don't worry about it, it is a characteristic of the Bosch pintle type injectors. I had the same concern many years ago with my C4. I took my mechanics stethoscope and went to each injector to see if one was notably louder than the others. They all varried slightly . Unless you are experiencing drivability problems , I would not worry about it. </P>

<P>I use to get many people in the dealership concerned about the ticking noise back when they were under warrantee. Chevy bulletins state it's normal so we sent them on there way.</P>
