Lehmannhenry is dead on and it’s the bottom line!
2 seats = sports car
I always find my self correcting people when it comes to the dime a dozen mustang, when they say wow look at that sports car I for some reason have to let them know the facts. Nothing against Mustangs (which I happen to like) but regardless of the horse power or lines it will never be a sports car. Not to open the mustang Vette debate just that’s when I find myself explaining the difference between sports cars and everything else.
SO a C2 will always be a sports car with a lot of muscle :partyon: .. Weren't vettes once advertised as America’s first sports car?

I know I can definitely feel a different from going from a Trans Am to a Corvette. It's a completely different world. I could fit maybe a 5-year old child in those damned back seats, it was heavy to steer but had plenty of power on a straight line.

The Vette is a different beast, hangs the turns and still has the power but feeling more refined. It's a sports car, always has been.

If its a vert, does it qualify as a roadster, ala the Cobras? I agree that a muscle car is a 2 door , 2 front seats+two tiny seats, rear wheel driven car, but the vette has to fall in the catagory as a sports car, a roadster, and a supercar, depending on the options. The older bigblocks were, IMO, supercars for their time.
