This is my story.... Since day one problems but, I just can't get of it I been working since sixteen to have somethings as fast and looks as great as the C6 im 23 if you were wondering.

I went to look at the car at Ocean Chevy in December of 05, when i got to the dealership they said I couldn't test drive my c6 because they had to put a new tire on because they got a nail in the sidewall and the tire had to sit to seat in the rim.

That was problem one, the day I went to take the car home $63000 later they forgot to fill up the tank so i ran out of gas on the way to the gas station. Just my luck....So I take it home no problems for a good year.

In spring of 2006 after a trip to Virginia using the navigation system that added a total of maybe 3 or 5hrs to the average mapquest time my complete rear end housing cracked and locked up after losing at the fluid with only 8k. That's problem two about four months down the road the rear started to loose fluid again by way of the right half shaft.

So.. I took it back to the dealershlp who worked on it Sansone. They had to call in the east coast dumb*** district service manager who claims that due to the excessive wear of my eagle f1 supercar emt's which has to wear warranty because of the soft compond and with sprited drive known to last between 8 to 13000 miles. So i was denied due to my so called abusive driving. That problem is still not fixed.

I have also had a nav system replaced and am on my third battery. Now as of sunday i got my new problem and it's probaly not my last my clutch pedal sank to the floor because of a problem still unkown. I am currently waiting of word from Sansone. So.... please tell me what you think.

We weren't wondering, since it has nothing to do with the solution.

You didn't test drive your car before signing for it? They apparently did to get a nail in the side wall. Anyway, bad move dude. Never buy a car without test driving it.

As for letting the car sit after changing the tire, that's utterly ridiculous and they lied to you.

Your dealer sucks, but there is a gas gauge and there is a flashing message that says "LOW FUEL" and chimes at you, constantly, with an easy to hear warning sound. When this is happening you have at least 50 miles left on the tank. you ignored it?

GPS technology works, but the software and directional recommendations in navigation units, in my experience, are not to be completely trusted.

So... you just kept driving with that horrible machining sound coming from the rear of your car until it locked up?

Not surprising. If only your rear tires have excessive wear, your are simply out of luck. Spirited driving. in other words, means you have been tearing them up. But... why wouldn't you? It's a Corvette, but expect to replace your own tires like everyone else.

I think you need to get the clutch fixed.

Listen, I'm not trying to give you ****, but all of these things are completely unrelated... and you made some bad decisions along the way.

Although it's interesting your clutch is toast, you locked up your rear end, your rear tires have excessive wear, and your right half shaft is leaking.

I think you should just get the clutch fixed and keep on truckin'. You don't have a lemon. And, some of this is your fault man.

You know... I was at the Corvette plant a few days ago... and they literally had hundreds of Eagle F1's lined up :D

Would have been nice to snag a few, because, yes... indeed, we do all drive in a 'spirited fashion'. Whether you're 23 like me, or 75 like some other dudes on this site... Vettes are meant to be fun (responsibly, of course). Paying for tires is one of those choices we made when we signed the check for our Vettes. If you didn't want to spin your tires, go buy a slow car, like a Mustang or something...

On a side note, sorry to hear about all the crappy stuff happening to your Vette man, that can be a heartbreaker.

I have a question though... what options did you have to bring the cost up to $63,000??? I had every available option except OnStar and an Automatic Transmission put on my '07 and it came to $56,320

I can't believe I was actually able to read that chicken scratch:drink: . Sucks about the car though. I look at it like this. If you can afford a $60K+ corvette at 23, then you could (or should) be able to:

A. Get rid of it and buy another one.
B. Get it fixed.
C. Buy new tires.

First, the clutch is probally dead due to smoking it, not the tires....second, the rear is destroyed due abuse, more so than what is considered above normal for a speed junkie.....three, tires are a consumable, they are meant to go away, but just not that quickly, so I'd have to guess at least half the times you thought you were burning out, you actually were, for the other 50%,look to first comment.Fourth and final....I hope you at least had fun tearing the car up...

I would be willing to bet that you've had a low powered car (stick shift) that you were trying to clutch in some extra power at higher revs in your past, right? I'm sure you are doing the same to the vette. Also, I would be willing to bet that you've had the rear hop when breaking traction too. Am I right?

Every option excluding chrome wheels and a painted roof. That price was tax and all the other fees.

No, i didn't keep driving with that horrible machining sound, i didn't even hear a sound. The housing cracked due to a defect in the mold.

I did some research on my recent clutch failure and found this little bit of information.

Craftomatic, for low powered car(stick shift) i have only owned one low powered car that was a 87 Taurus and my 02 WRX also I know a thing or two about rwd. I've owned a 03Cobra 11.3 and a slow S2000. By the way the O3 had the same tranny

I also have Chrome Wheels and both types of roof,

Seriously, the only options absent were the onstar and automatic... I didn't get the Magnetic Ride Control, but the Z51 package negates that.

Did your dealer charge you over sticker???? If thats the case, then what Patrick said above is right, your dealership sucks. If I were you, I'd have another dealership do your routine maintenance and such. Once again, really sorry to hear about the troubles you are having brother... I'm your age (23) so I know how sweet it is to be cruising in one of these as a recent College Grad and if mine was inoperable I would be pissed. Get 'er fixed as soon as you can, and get back on the streets!

I agree that $63k is insane for that. That is way over sticker. The tax and "other fees" must have been a **** load.

Sticker on mine was a bit over $56k. I paid $51k for it. All options, except for Auto, and Chrome Rims (got the polished aluminum). I got 3LT with onstar, nav, Z51 and both roofs.

Sounds like we got about the identical Vette... only trade off was you got the onstar and I got the chromies...

MSRP was $56,320, paid just over $51,000 to take her home

Sorry to way say but i got ripped off. My dealer really did suck! That's the price i payed for being impatient. At the time there was only one white c6 with red interior within 200 miles of where i live. I knew that was true because a buddy of mine worked for a gmc dealer and did a locate.

No worries man... I wouldn't say you got completely ripped off... sounds like you have a few more options than me, so your MSRP was around $58K-$59K and then they marked you up a little, plus with taxes, sounds about right.

Availability can be a bitch... if you're anything like me, I wasn't ready to settle for just anything on the lot, I had to have the Corvette I wanted, and we're willing to pay a little bit for it.

Next time, drive down to Kerbeck in Atlantic City and take your pick.
