Im looking at a 02 coupe, not a FRC, 6-speed, 13,880 miles, some nice add ons like chrome Z06 rims and aftermarket exhaust, silver with black and red interior. Price is $28,695. I think it could be had cheaper, even though its very low miles. What you all think?

thanks for your comments yellow-vette, I also found a 02 Z06 with 34,000 miles on it for $27.775, I know they hold their value, but the market determines the prices. Most modern vettes are not rare, and Z06s are everywhere. I just dont think I should pay $28K for 350hp when I can have 405 for $27k. I know the non Z06 has very low miles, but 34,000 isnt alot either. The mods are a wash in the resell dept IMO, its not like its supercharged or something of that nature. I was thinking of more like $25k for an offer, am I crazy to think this guys? My father always said "all they can say is no".

I agree 100%.....Low ball even further though....why not go for the Z?

Z's are COOL dude, but I have ALWAYS been a "roof taker outer" if ya know what I'm saying :thumbsup:

I just don't like the "no bublle glass" in the rear. I have always like the back glass look even though I had a "fast back" on my 84 and 85 vette.

How I told my next door neighbor before he sold his 600 hp Neon turbo charged "thing" and bought a Z in my same color (yellow), "a vette is a vette" and no matter how much hp you got in your Neon, Charger, Mustang, or whatever you want to call it, when you shut the engine off, all it is is what it is....and no matter how much hp you have on a vette, a vette is a vette dude!

If you getting it to drive everyday do NOT get the Z06. Yeah, it faster but you wont notice it that much going to and from work and , let me tell you, being able to take the roof off after one of those rough days at work has done wonders for my stress levels many times:laughing: . Now if your going to mainly track it, then ya go for the Z.

Love the replies guys!! I wont be taking it to the track, but I wont be driving it every day either. If the non Z has active suspension, does that mean its a non Z51? Does it mean if its a non Z51, that it will not have a performance axle?? IMO if its a Vette, dont give me highway gears!

I got the coupe because I can take the roof off and for the same car /miles,condition,options/ coupe was cheaper. If I could have a Z06 with the targa top would have gotten one.
I've never had a convertible/targa top, and really wanted that option.
If you got the $, you can always add HP to a coupe and STILL get the 405HP your looking for.

In every day life with a C5 does the regular coupe have any advantages/drawbacks vs a FRC? Would I miss the 55 extra HP? (probably a dumb question) Is the Z06 hard to live with compared to a nonZ C5??
There's more to a C5 Z06 than 55hp. My Z may be going up for sale soon. I need a new toy. :cheers:

I'm actually looking at diving into exotics, with my eye on a Diablo or a 360 Spyder. I don't trust myself on only 2 wheels. :cheers:
