Its a 13.1 ET car or so.

When Ready with the Trans Am I am going right after the 1000 HP Hellaphant.
780 Hp Demon.
707 Hellocats Modded to 1000 + HP.

Less than 9-second ET Power with Timeclocks off.
So just to recap here your plan is to never have been to a real drag strip once in your adult life. Which can only mean no real practice with the tree or launching on a prepped track. take all of your adult life to build one unstable engine. ands go race the big boys before that one chance in your life comes apart?

Well, Godspeed, buddy. But between us, you might have better odds playing the lotto.

Wiz,

You know I am partial to the C4 drag platform.

A friend of mine (who passed last year) ran NMCA events like me.

He was in a different class.

Bob Curran. you can google him if you want.

From Bartlett Illinois.

Ran 7's in his small block C4. Street legal.

Hi Matt.
I got hired by a Famous Corvette shop in Chicago today.
Also stopped by Crazy Eds house.
He has his old Race Car on the lift.
Getting revamped.
No Prep Drag.
Around 1800-2000 Single 88-91 mm Turbo planned
About $30k away.
Eddie was happy to see me. Been 8 months.
Buzzing home to the Farm in my 87 C4 Vert doing 90-100.
Feels good driving my Corvette once again.

wiz,wiz,wiz,

You miss the point.

I raced NMCA true street.

It's more than a car with lights.

You have to show proof of insurance, have plates, lights, turnsignals, brake lights, etc.

A registered, street legal car car.

My class would run 30 miles on a NASCAR track to prove it was a street car, Then drag race.

Look up the rules Wiz.

Wiz,

I was posting friends of mine from NMCA

From Illinois.

Are you buddies with that car owner you posted? Or just something you found on the net?

Here's another pic of another friend of mine from NMCA.
He had a picture of my car in his shop.
Also from Illinois.

That Is A Huge collection of C1 Corvettes Matt !

The 1969 Trans Am is real.
Trans Am lettering is too big like 1973 on the rear spoiler.

1970 TA is nice.

Buccaneers Red Looks good on that 1973 TA

It kinda sucks that I am the only one here actually racing. Ya know? Isn't there any others here on DC that go racing with their corvettes? Currently, I mean.

Gunny is A Road Racer.
Really a Street Racer also but he does not want to claim that title.
Going back to 2008 he caught my eye on CFC4.
Telling everyone he was driving 140-180 in his C4 Roadster and the SS IMPALA.

Well that's a stretch, but ok. I mean I am trying to create that image for the job..

But I have still only been twice. both times to go with the same car I was building before and after. I don't know if that's 'hooked' or more 'beginning to show interest'.

Wiz,

I am glad you have made a few runs in your life and now are a drag racing enthusiast.

I wouldn't call you a racer, but you are getting your feet wet.

Good for you.

I walked away after many years. For what it's worth I have made more runs in a weekend than you have made in your lifetime so far.

I am amused by your authority on the subject now.

Anyway, don't let it consume you. Dispite what anyone says, there is no money to be made in drag racing unless you have big sponsors or get real good in a lower class.

About 15 years ago There was this teacher that rana red ZR1 at Byron.

Bone stock. Ran mid 13's

That thing was so consitant and he was so good at the light, he would make 20 to 30 grand a summer. Some of the no box races would pay out $3000.00 to the winner sometime more.

So it shows you don't have to be fast to win at the brackets.

The faster you go, the more money you spend and more **** breaks.

It's pretty close to an 87 Pump gas Record 12.6 ET.
Nothing official in the books.

Years ago a guy in a 1976 Trans Am 455 4-speed with Ported 6H heads ran low 13 s in the Pontiac Mags.

Bruce Fupler of the 421 club did something similar with a Pontiac 350 but I don't recall exact ET.

Clifford Ruggles of Clifford Q-jets did it 87 octane also with a Pontiac 400.
In the 12s somewhere.
