Received my K&N aircharger yesterday, put it together last night.

Today, decided to install it on my 2007 Z06.

Disconnected the battery and proceeded to take off the stock unit.

When I put the mass airflow sensor in the K&N housing, it wouldn't go in all the way. It seems the cutout in the K&N was too small.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Anyway, I put my stock unit back on and called K&N. They asked me to send them some pictures.

K&N seemed to be responsive to my problem and will get back to me shortly.

Also, I noticed my tire pressure system is reading Zero on all 4 wheels. Will this reset itself after I drive the car, or will I need to go to the dealer to get it straightened out?

Some pictures:

You have your white spacers on the wrong side. Put them next to the aircharger.:D

btw, I had to run a tap through the threads on the K&N since everything was crossthreading. I will run out to the car tomorrow and see if I can figure out if I even used the white spacers there. I know I didn't have any probs with the MAF. Getting the airfilter onto the housing, now that was a pita!

On second glance: are you sure you didn't install the MAF backwards?

Pretty sure the spacers are on the wrong side. Also ensure you have the MAF in the hole pointing the correct way. I had no issue with that part. BUT just wait until you start trying to stretch them long clamps!! Otherwise, I love mine.

I saw your write-up, excellent job. You don't show a closeup of your maf installed. Just by looking at it from the side shot, it looks to sit flush with the K&N tube. I can't see where the nylon washers are located.
Hold on I'll Get you a PIC.:D

You know, this is really an easy install, but a real important one.

I don't want any air to get in around the maf and cause codes.
I feel like the unit I have is going to let that happen because its not fabricated very good where the maf hole is.

I can make it work by forming a gasket around the hole. I'm not sure I want to do that, just waiting on K&N to get back to me.

here you go the spacers are soft which lets the MAF sensor seal with the aircharger.

Decided to go ahead and put it on tonight.

I had some gasket material, and formed a nice gasket.
I put the gasket next to the K&N tube, and white nylon spacers
on top of the gasket. Then screwed the maf down good and tight.
I don't think any air will get in now.

Thanks for everybody's help

I'll try it out tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

Anyway, its done! :excited:
