Seems absurd on the face of it, right? The first C8s are NOT yet in garages but KBB has already calculated that the C8 Resale value after 5 years of ownership will be 54.9 % of MSRP. KBB calculation drivers are cited to be the "...huge performance increase, its radical styling, and the level of pent-up demand. "

According to Autoblog, a 45.1% 5 year depreciation C8 would not fall into it's top 10 least depreciating cars...not far away, but not the Top Ten.
  1. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited = 30.0%
  2. Jeep Wrangler = 31.5%
  3. Toyota Tacoma = 32.0%
  4. Toyota Tundra = 35.9%
  5. Toyota 4Runner = 36.5%
  6. Porsche 911 = 37.2%
  7. Honda Ridgeline = 38.1%
  8. Nissan GT-R = 39.4%
  9. Nissan Frontier = 39.5%
  10. Subaru WRX = 40.0%

According to KBB, my C6 trade-in value after 10 years is approximately 40% of sticker. So I'm surprised it isn't higher.
