I saw Michael Vick pleaded innocent today regardless of the overwhelming evidence and cooperation witnesses.
My Question is this: Are you under oath when you give your plea?
what I'm getting at is, if you plead innocent and then found guilty
are you charged with perjury for calling yourself innocent?
Obviously you have the right to plead as you wish but when you lie
to a judge in court and are caught your charged for it,

There must be some lawyers out there (with the price of vettes and all)
I'm betting that NO you do not, but it does seem like it's giving false info
in a court of law.

Anyway I hope they feed him to his own dogs if convicted!
thanks in advance....... Jack

So by your logic, then, if you paid someone to kill someone else, you wouldn't have any criminal responsibility under the law?

That isn't the way the law works. If you own the land that houses the animals, then you carry some responsibility for what happens to those animals.

If you know that a crime is being committed on your property, you bear responsibility for that crime (even if you aren't directly committing any crime).

Stupid people do stupid things everyday...it's the way of the new world
I would submit it's BEEN the way of the world all along.

There isn't much new in the world of stupid, but in our culture, many more stupid people have access to the media, and their stupidity can be promulgated much faster to their adoring fans!

He's famous and a terrific athlete so I think that they should drop all of the charges because of this.

yep
it's the way of the new world
but hardly a new phenomenon. I'm pretty sure this has been true from the time the first ape decided to walk upright.

That would be dumb. Gee, I wonder who would have a motive to kill this guy. Crimes like that are stupid. Just look at the guy(s) that stand to benefit most.
