I have a old house that has a small two car garage and a low ceiling. I also have a automatic garage door which takes up some more room. What have anyone done in this situation. Some of the lifts i looked at just take up too much room and can only go up a few feet till I top out. for that expenses I do not think it is worth the 4 to 6 thousand and cant walk under it. Looking for some advice on what to do. I love working on cars and this has been a big problem, cant get the wife to move :smack so I am stuck with the small garage. :thud:

you don,t need to run a lift all the way to full height,

a good welder and a long weekend and about $700-$1000 in steel , and some hydrolic rams ,with some carefull design work you could easily build a custom lift, all the components are easily available it just takes work, thought, planing and some welding skills:thumbsup:

keep in mind you can get 4 feet of clearance under the vette with the qwicklift or ramps and cutting/ building a 2-3 foot deep and car length and width work pit in the garage floor and putting in a lowered concrete floor and walls, sure its work, but it can be done
