1982 Coupe, Backup lights not working, turn signals not working, right side brake lights not working (left side works fine), hazard flashers work fine, tail lights all work fine, parking lights up front work. Just replaced my dash and was really careful not to pinch wires, checked all fuses, all good. Is there something in the console I need to check? Help and suggestions are appreciated. I'm thinking I nicked a wire or some such somewhere. I just need to know where to look for it.

Are you getting voltage to the socket? If you are getting voltage, you have a ground issue. if not start tracing wires back until you have power

See that's what's got me stumped. The hazard flashers work on all four corners. If I had a bad ground, they shouldn't work correctly, unless I'm missing something. I'll be going thru all the wiring today, hopefully I'll find the issue and fix it.

Do you have the laminated wiring diagrams from Doc Rebuild? Def worth the money. Also, don't assume anything when troubleshooting, it will cost you time and aggravation. Doc's diagrams are cool because they have the connectors pictured for easy identification and the whole thing is laid out in actual order it is on the car, very cool and took a lot of someones time to put them together.

I wish I had one of those diagrams. I do have one on my computer that I use a lot, I think I'll have to employ my drafting skills and make a better one!

On a good note, I have the brake lights fixed. I replaced the turn signal fuse (it doesn't look blown, but start with the easy stuff, right?) and now the brake lights work, but still no turn signals or backup lights. Back to the garage with the multimeter and a glass of sweet tea. It will be in the mid 70s again today. Gotta love south Georgia, amirite?

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into that tomorrow. No joy today with the turn signals or reverse lights. Unfortunately I go back to work tomorrow (Christmas break is over), so I will get back on it Saturday.

Doc Rebuild doesn't have diagrams for the 82 (at least not that I could find) so I got one from Lectric Limited on the way. Still no joy on the back up lights or turn signals. Fuses are good. I'm suspecting switch on the turn signals, checking the ground on the reverse lights today.

None of the wires are hot coming into the harmonica connector regardless of key position. I think I may have found my issue. Looking for a schematic to use until I get the one I ordered, lol

(some time later...)

Okay, so I get power to the white wire in the harmonica now, still no bu or turn, so I checked the fuse box. Brand new fuse, so I pulled the fuse, put the key in run, no power to either side where the fuse plugs in. That explains why no turn or bu lights. Now to find where that circuit gets power.

(even more time later...)

Fixed it. It was a misaligned connector on the ignition switch on top of the steering column. Everything works now!
