Do you have OnStar?
Battery is dead and can't find my key. Any suggestions?
If you don't have Onstar try calling the number on the sticker on the driver's side window. I locked my keys in my car at work and they were going to send someone to open the car but couldn't do it since I was on a military base. I imagine this solution would work for you though. Good luck.
No Onstar, unfortunately. Don't think Onstar would work since the battery is dead.
Anyway to get the hood open from outside?
I think the dealership can make you a key with the vin #. Don't think you can open the hood from the outside.

So are you asking the best way to break in or steal a C6? Didn't you get 2 keys with the car? You lost them both?

I was kind of thinking that. I can see myself losing both keys though. I don't keep the key on the fob and have misplaced it and the spare before. That was also in the midst of moving in to a new place though.
I hope you figure out the problem soon. I recomend you get one of those little spare key boxes and stick one under the car somewhere when you finally do get this resolved. Its the worst to have this happen and the best to know that when it does you have a spare key hidden somewhere on the car.
Isn't there a way to get power into the cars electrical system from under the car? Sure seem that if you found a ground and a positive lead... like the starter? You could then use your FOB and get right in. Just need some juice.
Patrick is 100% correct you need to attach a power source to the positive battery feed on the starter(the big terminal please) and a ground.

If you cant do that, take your registration or other proof of ownership and a photo ID with the same address as your POO(lmao) to any dealer and have a new key cut so you can get in the trunk, release the door, pop your hood and charge the battery. Dont lose your keys :D
OK....

Even if your car is not lowered. How the hell are you going to be able to get under the car to attach this power source to the starter. Even before lowering my car i had to drive up on ramps so i can get a jack under it. I would not waste any more time, and if not done so already, go to a chevy dealer and have them cut you a key. Simple!
As far as I am concerned the key fob idea is the biggest farce I have ever seen on any car, Just something else to lose or break down. I've not had a problem with my C6 yet, but the day is young.

I guess I just like technology, but the key fob idea is awesome. My Corvette is the only car I drive, so if I happen to drive a different car for some reason it just feels awkward and unnecessary to have a key or heaven forbid have to manually unlock the doors.
I carry my fob in one pocket and the key is on another key chain in another pocket. Saved my ass a couple of times.
Steal something else. You are lost in the mix of used car sales.

Get a wrecker and tow the sucker to the chop shop.

Why don't you have the key on the ring with the FOB? That way you can't lose a key. No Brainer.
