Looking for red C6 caliper's for my 07

1948 Views 10 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  AFAMack
I keep adding things to my Vette to make it different from other's but I can't seem to find re caliper's for the 07 Vette. One dealer told me to use the C5 caliper but the lettering of Corvette is different from the C6. I don't have an extra car to have them taken off and coated, so can't do that. Anyone know where to get them? Thank's.

You want to do it right? Use the C6 ZO6 calipers. They are red and chunky looking. They're not that much money.

i bought some red paint at pep boys for 15 bucks and a silver paint pen and paint brush total cost for everything 20 bucks. took me about 4 hours to paint them.

Hey C6-R JR, Will the Z06 red calipers fit the regular C6 Vette?

Pretty sure you'd need to replace the rotors for the 6 pot fronts and the 4 pot rear Z06 calipers. Then you would likely have a wheel clearance problem.

There are aftermarket painted and powder coated calipers available from various suppliers.

There are also more economic solutions available to those who don't mind getting there hands dirty. I've seen heat resistant brushon epoxy (don't wince, the calipers have a sand cast finish that shouldn't show brush strokes if you use a good brush) and there's always the VHT paint from Pepboys.

If you do paint yourself, be certain to use a good brake dust cleaner and a small stiff bristle brush on the caliper surface before you start painting. A small wire brush works better, but you better have an air hose handy to make certain no stray brush wires are around where they could work themselves between the rotor and the pads.

Another nice touch is the the brake pad covers available from at least one of our sponsors - Corvette Central. They're high polished stainless, but you could prep and paint them any color you like.

Sorry for the thumbnail, but the big pic won't link for some reason.

Try West Coast Corvettes. They have yellow, black,& red but they are a little pricey. A lot cheaper and not too hard to paint them however.
Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone have any photos of Lemans Blue calipers with red lettering... or any idea where I could get some?
You can get them powder coated from thepowdercoater.com. You can send him your calipers and brackets and he will turn them around in about 2 days, or you can put your name on the list. When your name comes up he will send you calipers and brackets, and then you send him yours for the next guy. Cost is $230 for the coating and shipping. More than painting, but they look better and are more durable.

:agree:

Great work! But like steven said, More than painting. But you never have to repaint again, the color will stay.
Sweet, thanks y'all!!
