If you have a Z06 model year 2001-2003 you may want to take a look at two service bulletins from Chevrolet. You can view them on my site at http://www.rjsmith.com/z06.html#service

Service Bulletin #894549 deals with excessive oil consumption in 2001-2002 LS1 and LS6 engines, while Service Bulletin #1206539 deals with an engine knock or "tick" sound which affects 2001-2003 LS6 engines only.

The fix for excessive oil consumption may be as simple as replacing the valley cover or as complex as replacing the number 2 compression ring on all 8 pistons.

Glad you like it, the site is staying this way for a long long long time!

There is also an issue with a "jingaling" noise with the 2002 Z06. The problem is with the H-pipe design and the last word I heard was the Corvette Engineers knew about the problem and are working on it.

For everyone's info, the noise can be "fixed" by going with an aftermarket X-pipe. Big Law Man had this problem with his '02 EB Z06 and it's all gone, that noise was driving him nuts.
