After watching the 24 hours of Daytona and the entire last season of ISMA. I’m not really sure that going to a mid engine was a ground breaking idea. I personally thought that the new new Corvette would clean house. Seems not to be the case.

The front mid cars are having their way with our beloved new idea. This has been very disappointing and some what of a shock considering the run Ford had with the GT. One would assume that a mid engine Corvette would be superior to the GT.

Guys I have to tell you this comes as a shock to me. I truly believed that the mid engine concept was the only evolution that would be able to compete in todays road courses. It seems I was mistaken.

Corvette finally got it right with the engine in front and the transmission in the back mated to the diff directly. This weight balance was achieved by splitting up the powertrain. Now it is back together just all the weight is in the back. C5, C6, and C7 are the only 50/50 Corvettes. Out of 8 generations, only 3 are actual track rats.

No worries. There is a heavy electric motor going in the nose for the AWD hybrid flavors. God, I love GM for their take on the word 'Hybrid'.

Who remembers the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid? GM trolling the green agenda like that. They put the word HYBRID in big bold letters on the side of the 6.0L gas guzzler and started bragging on it's 0-60 times.

And now Hybrid on Corvette and it is all about power and AWD. See guys the battery power can be cool. TY GM for your incredible sense of humor in a world gone mad.

In the case of the new Corvette, while it has received positive reviews from many critics and enthusiasts, it may take some time for it to reach its full potential on the track. It's possible that further development and refinement may be needed to fully exploit the advantages of the mid-engine layout.
Ultimately, the success of any racing car design depends on a complex interplay of factors, including engineering, testing, driver skill, and team strategy. It's not as simple as just choosing a certain design concept and expecting it to dominate the competition.
