these images look very similar to the first issue they did...which GM has claimed to not be the C6. i see some differences fromt he first scetches they've done hopefully the headlights are mores stylish
Images aside, the rest of the article was hype designed to boost newstand sales by capitalizing on the sketch and the misleading headline. If you read the article (pp 94) you'll notice that their "predictions" closely mirror the C5 launch history. Sort of deja vu all over again (bless you, Yogi).
One especially silly assertion was that the C6 will feature a 6-speed
automatic transmission with gear selection paddles behind the steering wheel (pp 96).
Another silly prediction was that "the C6's
Brembo braking will consist of massive, vented four-wheel discs...that we predict will help the standard Vette consistently nail stops of under 110 feet" (pp 97). Do they review their own road test data? It stops in 109 feet (some magazines saw 104 feet) now. With Chevy calipers and Chevy vented-rotors at all four wheels.
Other prescient insights gleaned from the the article indicate the C6 will have body panels made from SMC (what a shock!) and be front-engine rear-wheel drive (who
would have guessed?).
