Just read the test of an 08 Z51 NPP coupe in the September issue of MT. They absolutely loved the car, and said the steering and the previously horrible 2-3 shift issues are now fixed.:partyon: There only complaint was the run-flats. They said the first thing a Vette owner should do to increase performance is get non run-flats. Also, the auto should be .1sec slower to 60 and .2sec/2mph slower in the 1/4mi.

Some test results!

0-60: 4.1(Launched at 3000-3500rpm)
1/4mi.: 12.5sec @115mph
45-65mph passing: 1.8sec:surprised
60-0 braking: 110ft
skidpad: .97g(MT says 1g with non run-flats)

11s would be possible, if i had some seat time maybe 3-4 runs i could do it. MT got a 12.8 in an 06 and 12.5 in an 08, such improvment applied to the best know 1/4 time on an 06 of 12.2 and you have 11.9 all theoretical but still possible

With tires, 115-116 is enough to get a high 11, but everything has to click on that run. Launch>shift points>and maybe a slight tailwind

Only limitation couuld be tires/&TM remove those factors & tell me how/why a C5 Z06 w/only 405 Crank HP can run 11.85 @ 117-118 the 2008 has deff potential for 11's also the 2006-2007 Auto 6 speed thru down a 12.17 @ 116+ w/only 400 crank HP....

2005 Automatic A4 C6 have run 12.50 @ 112 I don't see how a manual 6 speed 2008 w/good driver & 395 rwhp or 455-465 crank HP can't run 11's...

Prove me right guys!! Do the C6 Vette proud!

My 2007 3LT M6 convertible runs very consistant 12.5's @ 115 mph, and that's bone-stock on street tires (and I'm no Don Garlits). The 2008 should be at least a full tenth of a second faster, even with a Motor Trend driver (they should stick to Buicks!). While a tenth of a second doesn't sound like much, it is on the dragstrip. I also agree that when some real-world numbers with better drivers - such as DC members - start showing up, you'll see better numbers appear. 12.3's @ 117 should be very easy to come by.

How much difference will all this make on the street? None. Glad I didn't wait for the '08, I'll hang onto mine 'till the C7 is out.

Nice times for a 3lt Vert:thumbsup:
I only ran a [email protected] (2.02 60') in my stripped 1lt 06 base manual coupe that weighed 3125#s.

BTW, I now have a 2006 3lt Vert:D

As for the magazines, based on 2 tests of the C6 LS3 (1 MT and 1 CD) the average is [email protected]

Based on 4 tests (2 CD and 2 MT) of the C6 LS2 the average is [email protected]

It seems the LS3 is 0.2 and 2.5mph faster.

I then averaged another forum's members times and got for the C6 LS2:

6 base manuals = [email protected]
12 Z51 manuls = [email protected]
15 A6s = [email protected]
10 A4/3.15s = [email protected]

If these magazines are accurate the average driver should run [email protected] with the LS3:thumbsup:

Also, there are 3 stock LS2s that have run 12.21, 12.23, and 12.31s, two of those at 115+ in VERY GOOD WEATHER, this should make it possible for the LS3 to run [email protected]

Just more info for the masses,

Howard
