If a conservative anywhere said what he said, he’d be suspended for... ever. Every leftist would be crawling out of every crack to wax furiously. Ed’s lucky he switched sides a decade ago.
-------------------------

MSNBC has suspended Ed Schultz, host of the “The Ed Show,” for one week without pay for calling conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham a ‘right-wing slut’ on his syndicated radio program Tuesday.

“Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” MSNBC said in a statement.

MSNBC said Schultz will address the remarks on his show Wednesday night, and begin his leave immediately afterward. He will return on June 6th.

“MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program,” MSNBC said.

Schultz’s suspension is the latest in a string of reprimands by the cable network in the last year. Keith Olbermann and Joe Scarborough were both suspended after making political donations without first alerting their bosses, a violation of NBC News policy.

Olbermann’s suspension went a long way toward weakening his relationship with MSNBC management, to the point that they parted ways earlier this year, leaving it without its highest-rated show host and architect of its current left-leaning slant.

“The Ed Show” moved from 6 p.m. to its current 10 p.m. slot after Olbermann’s departure caused a shuffling of MSNBC’s prime-time lineup.

The Daily Caller first noted the epithet in the midst of Schultz’s critique of Ingraham’s criticisms of President Barack Obama’s trip Ireland.

“And what do the Republicans thinking about?” Schultz said. “They’re not thinking about their next-door neighbor. They’re just thinking about how much this is going to cost. President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday but you know what they’re talking about, like this right-wing slut, what’s her name - Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut. You see, she was, back in the day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama’s doing it, they’re working him over.”

Ingraham reponded via her Facebook page on Wednesday.

“Re. the crude comments made about me by Ed Schultz on his radio program: First, I was surprised to learn that Ed Schultz actually hosted a radio show. Is it only available online?” she wrote.

“Second, I have to get back to recording the audio edition of my new book “Of Thee I Zing.” Now I’m tempted to insert one additional zing—about men who preach civility but practice misogyny.”

Schultz began his career as a right-wing talk radio host himself, but had a change of heart in 2000, becoming one of the most prominent progressive voices on the radio. In 2009, he was given his own show at MSNBC, where he became the voice of the working-class, pro-union left, known for his over-the-top bombast.

Women’s groups normally inclined to line up behind conservative talk radio hosts reacted angrily to Schulltz’s comments. The Women’s Media Center, the nonprofit founded by Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem, sent out an alert urging MSNBC to suspend Schultz.

“While conservative bloggers and watchdog organizations are highlighting Schultz’s remark, the Women’s Media Center also calls on MSNBC to suspend Schultz for his comments, since they not only attack Ingraham, but all women,” the group wrote in an alert Wednesday, according to the Daily Caller. “Ms. Ingraham is no friend to the Women’s Media Center, but a sexist and misogynist attack based on her gender and not her political views or comments is harmful to women in media, politics, and beyond.”

Schultz’s temper has reportedly gotten him into trouble before. Page Six reported in August that he threatened to “torch this [bleep]ing place” after MSNBC failed to include him in election-night promos. Sources said that MSNBC brass threatened to fire him if he repeated the outburst, though MSNBC declined to comment on it at the time.

A month later, TV Newser reported that he was reprimanted by MSNBC brass for calling New Jersey Governor Chris Christie a “cold-hearted fat slob.”

Metaphorically speaking, as was the host, she spends a lot of time on her knees blowing the conservative power brokers. That's being an intellectual slut. To continue the analogy, she has been the on call 'mouth piece' for the right wing extremist bigots for years. Too bad the host had to cut them a little close to the 'bone.'

Rush can call his vitriol 'sarcasm and banter.'
I call Schultz' vitriol 'metaphor and analogy.'

NBC in general, and MSNBC in particular are the hot bed of left wing hate and violence promotion.

Hell, just looking at the MSNBC videos from the 10 days prior, they hold most of the blame for the Arizona shooting.

Face it, T. Schultz got caught in the political correctness trap that was built by his fellow leftists. It's just downright funny to see the string of talk leftists getting some of their own stupid medicine these days. They are always quick to crucify anyone from the right who utters a non-PC word. But the women's group that called for his suspension was practically apologizing as they did it.

I think this quote fits well here:

I just love it when Liberals have their toilets back up on them. They get so shocked to see all the **** they have been throwing around all this time as if it weren’t going to come back to them. And then they go to take another dump on someone and instead they see all their **** in the toilet, backed up, smelling and steering them in the face, and try as they might to flush the toilet it just floods all over their floor. Live with it guys. It’s your **** coming back to haunt you.

Schultz is the douche in the bag. He is an American hater and Obama sucker.
Personally, I'll love the opportunity to knock him on his arse.

If you can even call that journalism, or literature...

With all those derogatory words like "liberal, ****, toilet..."

But if that's your speed...

I dunno who this guy is, but he needs to be on some other cable channel to sling that garbage.
Since the "water the tree of liberty" patriot right wingers sling the same garbage.

You're about as bright as a blown out light bulb. No one tried to pass that off as journalism but you. That was a comment I saw on a forum a couple days ago and decided to repost it because it fit. In fact I found it so funny and delightful I originally posted it here:

BTW, "Liberal" is a derogatory term now? Perhaps you'd prefer secular progressive instead?

In TX, the answer would be "yes". NY? It's meant to denote superiority - but only recognized as such by those who carry the label.
BTW, I thought you were moving to TX. You could probably survive in the liberal nest of Austin. An Austin liberal is probably about the equivalent of a NY moderate. :D

Yup. He did. No question. He was a fool for saying it.

BUT he owned up to it. Rush, Beck, Hannity and klan dodge about and call it 'sarcasm' or 'metaphor' or similar. THAT, my sincere friend, is the difference I was pointing out. One that typical bigoted haters posting above clearly are too illiterate to understand.

A simple apology makes everything all better ? Really ? That's all it takes ? Doesn't matter what you do or say... as long as you are sorry ?

Got a link as proof? IOW, show us where any of those guys has used an epithet as vile as Shultz's...and then show us where he/they didn't apologize...

Rush, Hannity, Beck, and klan never got to the apology before. They stayed with indignance and their 'it was sarsacm and analogy' line and nothing ever happenned to them.

Clearly a 1-sided fake outrage on their part.

How are you so ****ing blind to see this?
