I've been inactive and lurking for a few years and decided it's time for a thread about my Corvette. It's (most of it) a 79 with a TPI 383 and 700R4 from an 87 Corvette. The swap was done by the previous owner a bit hastily using a totaled 87 for the parts. It was done enough for the car to move on it's own power when I got it, but in very rough shape. I now have the majority of the "kinks" worked out, and it's a good driving car. I'll add more to it and what I've done over time, but for now here are a couple pictures of what it's like now. You can see by the one picture that it's actually just a Corve instead of a Corvette. The 'tte' either fell off or someone tried to take it while I was at a local cruise in, not sure which haha.

The first picture is on a lookout area near Blowing Rock /Boone NC. It possibly was the Blue Ridge Parkway, but I honestly don't remember for sure if I was still on the parkway at that point. It definitely is some great scenery there, and when I can I try to go in the fall right as leaves turn. I was a week or two late that particular year.

Here are some pictures that show the seats before I recovered them in black, and the rear storage compartment doors before I replaced them with the carpeted doors seen above. Some of these are pictures I've been holding onto for years, so you may see some things that are out of order as I slowly add more.

The black seat cover looks good... is that leather, and do you remember what brand or seller? My '79 seats are in good condition, and i restored the interior with sound-proofing and new carpet. At the same time I moved driver's seat to passenger side, and the less-used passenger seat to the driver's side. I am currently restoring/repairing my rear suspension and drive train from the clutch on back...

The seat covers are vinyl. I got them from Wilcox around 2016 or 17. It was something like 3 times the price for leather, which I thought was more likely to degrade in a car that sat long periods over the winter in my garage. I just recently did U joints and wheel bearings on my rear. The year before last I replaced front wheel bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints and bushings.
