Hey guys,

Having a problem here. My dad's 1999 Dakota V6's exhaust is pretty much shot. He needs a completely new setup. I was going to go with some Gibson headers and straight duals out the back with some flowmasters. No Cats. What size pipe should I use to keep the backpressure from being completely removed? I was informed that if I take of cats that the backpressure would be gone and I would actually lose power.

Thanks for any help guys

I guess nobody knows.

I went ahead and ordered some Gibson headers, JBA y-pipe, and Gibson dual exit catback. I just need an intermediate pipe to go between the y-pipe and catback. Where can I find this at? Autozone doesn't carry, but one of those type of places should?

No cats either.

Just head to a local exhaust shop and pay cash for a pipe bent the way you need it. Make a cardboard template. The size pipe is dictated by the size you are hooking up to. If the collectors are 2.5 then do that but I wouldn't go any bigger.

Cool, that makes sense. Just get them to make the pipe for me. OK

Thanks,
