My new gas cap

I am installing this ATL gas cap, it doesn't fit LOL but I made an alu pate that is epoxied in the original opening. I will remodel the original hole to fit tight aroun the ATL gas cap, the cap will not sit flush but will be recessed.

Still have to fabricate a funnel to go on the underside so I can hook up the fuel hose to the fuel cell (and remove the cap that is on there and replace it with a flapper style filler neck that I already have)

booooo shame on you man  :rolling:

this is the real deal, I have an atl (aero tech labs) fuel cell so I had to get the real deal filler cap for it also, instead of a fake ricer ones like the sparco stuff

They are actually for mounting on the fuel cell fillter plate, if you look through the hole in the 2nd pic there's another one just like it right there but that one will go (it's real tight to lock/unlock..dunno wtf is up with it so that's why I bought a new one)

For 7.60 a gallon it better do a lot more than just strip paint :D

We're well on the way to catching up to you in price. Last time I filled up (actually, pumps shut off at $75), it was $3.55 a gallon. It's been jumping
.10 to .20 cents a gallon instead of a nickle or pennies a gallon.
It went up here again also, pronbably 7,60 a gallon now...maybe more.
That looks prettty good TT. It briefly crossed my mind a few months ago about modding the fuel cap with a (I think called) Monza style cap. After a bit of a look around the net I gave it the arse as i still have WAY too many things to do before I start thinking about doing that. Anyway, yours looks good, I like it...

Can I pi$$ everyone off and mention the fuel price here :partyon:

NO

I think I saw $0.50 a gallon... That doesn't piss me off, it makes sense... just go tell OPEC to calm down a little bit.

Anyway, TT, nice mod. I can't wait to see it on a finished product and looking really sharp.

$0.60 a gallon. The new King dropped it from $0.90 a gallon about 18 months ago...

Well, It WOULD be nice to drop that ~buck/gallon gas tax here, BUT, where would we get the $$$$ to keep this 3k miles E-W, and ~2000 miles N-S highway system we got in decent enuff repair so we can even GET gas???

ever seen the Katrina ruins?? no electric, no gas, no gas, no go, freeking 3rd world all over again.....mell of a hess....

Over there they use gas tax to fund social (ist) welfare programs....

I dough anyone would want your King George, no one could not afford him and his gang.:smack

TT, are you maybe a little concerned about the gas cap on the chain rolling around on your new paint.
TT, they look like aircraft style bolts around your gas cap. Do they have lock wire holes in them? If so, are you gonna lock wire them?
Slick cap.

You could even paint the cap rivets to match whatever body color you choose down the line.

Yes they are nas bolts w/ holes for wirelocking. I just used them as they were the only ones I had in the proper size. I'll change them for some button head allen heads, these are for wire locking other components and don't look too good in that spot. My ar is full of top quality 12 point aircraft hardware and allen bolts, I don't like hex heads.

Aircraft fastners can sure get expensive. I didn't "appropriate" enough before I left the Air Force... :thud:
there was a local airbase here, all the fasteners had expiration dates on them, after expiring they couldn't use them anymore. They're fine for what I'm doing with them. Also, they pop up on fleabay every now and then.
