Hey forced induction DC dudes

.....I thought I'd share details of my new bigger BOV for my S/C C6 .
It is the new 52mm Turbosmart Race port BOV.
It will be needed it to quickly purge the 20psi of compressed air sitting in my intake tract when my throttle plates suddenly close and air has no where to go.
It supports FI engines over 1500hp.

There is a 18 sec video clip towards the bottom of this post

I received my new springs and flange from Turbosmart today for my BOV

Here's some pics and descriptions of what I did:

.
.
.

I removed all but 2 Allen screws and put the BOV it the vise to hold the spring pressure while removed them. Then I slowly released the vise.

Here is the BOV all apart. Note the heavy spring on the right. I have to replace it with the 2 on the left. The springs are for cars with 9-14 psi of vacuum at idle.

Getting ready to clamp it back together with the new springs installed...

Back in vise to compress springs so I can install Allen bolts

.

Finished and ready to install. The old spring to the right

.

I just finished putting the flange for the BOV on the pipe before the MAF and installing the BOV.
I discarded the vacuum fitting that came with the unit and used a AN -6 Banjo fitting to increase hose diameter.

I did not take it for a spin yet. I will get a driving video with the new BOV and post it..
Wow this thing is responsive.

Here is a short clip:

Thanks for the very kind remarks.
But, if you want to be like me, you'll never grow up .

Yes on the wires, I have another electric Fuel pressure gauge mounted on one of the pillar pods. This motor was not dynoed yet, guessing ,it's around 780rwhp @ 14 psi at the moment. F1R and 20psi very soon for a little nudge:devil: ..

P.S. See some of you this weekend in Lombard
