Just got back from a HPDE at VIR (Virginia Internation Raceway) near Danville, Virginia. What a super event. I think there were over 200 Vettes there and it seemed like half of them were Z06's. A small amout of other cars like BMW's, Porche's Audi etc. driven by some instructors but completely Vette as far as students. It was my first HPDE so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was great. Got to drive my Z06 close to it's limits in a controlled, safe and legal (not on street) way, I might add. I got to drive the track seven different sessions of about 25 minutes each over the two days at the track (July 2 & 3). I think I got around 200 miles (approx.) of track time. What a blast. If you got a Vette and it's more than a show car you gotta do this, A Vette is more than just show you know. You got to drive it the way it was designed to be driven, to get all you should out of it and you can't do that on the street. I can't wait for my next event now. I think I'm hooked on these events. This Track is 3.25 miles with two major straights, one is 4000 feet and the other is 3000 feet so you really get to open it up a couple times per lap the rest is turns with elevation changes, great place. This track is great and I am looking forward to driving it again but I'm also looking forward to next HPDE anywhere. I would also like to say while I'm here, come on GM we need more events like this and your support would be very helpful, after all you make the cars we all love, we support you, you support us. :thumbsup:
