I need to sell my '82 'vette, but I don't think anyone will give me what I need for it. I have a lien on it through my bank for $7,000.00, and I feel certain that no one wants to pay that much for it because it has a rebuilt/rebuildable title. Considering its condition, I believe it to be worth around $10K.

Q1) What should I expect to get for this vehicle?
Q2) Is there a way(or process) to "restore" the title status ( by replacing the frame, or restored by a professional) or something?

Your best bet would be to contact Florida DMV and get that info. At least it will be correct. I know it can be done in NJ.

The first question I had was why is there Missouri Tags on a car being sold in Florida? I see in the other pictures the tags are Florida. It's an inconsistency that trips a flag in the back of your head. All your pictures should be taken recently or give an explanation of the earlier pictures.

Selling a car with a salvage title is difficult unless you have pictures and descriptions of all repairs. What hurts you is all the stories of salvage cars sold by liars and cheats. That's where pictures of the damage and repairs helps.

You'd be lucky to get 7K for it.

There are some very nice C4's out there for 10K, and if someone wanted a salvage title car, they could get a C5 for around that much. Now keep in mind that I don't know squat about the prices of C3's but from the looks of the close up pictures, there are too many flaws inside and outside of the car to warrant paying that kind of money for a salvage title car. The key thing to my opinion is that salvage title.

Not trying to be mean, just trying to give you one man's honest opinion. Good luck with the sale. :cheers:

Thanks guys - I appreciate your input. I guess I'll get rid of the older Missouri pics (even though it still looks the same), and contact FLA DMV about the title. I am obviously very dis-heartened about the car's title. I am certain that everything could be corrected during a restoration, but that is obviously far from my mind. Just as you guys said - and I know - the car looks VERY nice at 20 feet, and runs pretty good also, but that title is what is killing me. (THANK YOU RealmSteel FOR THE COMPLIMENT). :thumbsup:

Guess I'll start playing the lottery - I have the same chances at selling my car, right?! :laughing:
