I have the motor out and need some help and suggestions please.

Should I go with a cast crank and hypertutechtic pistons with a set

of decent rods gaskets, pre- balanced or forged. Whats my supplier

choice for a good deal besides Summit, Ecklers, etc. And does anyone

have an idea of the different $$$.

Many Thanks to fellow Vetters.

What are you wanting to do with this rebuild? For a stock rebuild, your crank, rods, and pistons should be okay unless you have evidence of failure/abuse/neglect.

wella

What I want to do is find a reasonably $ pre-balanced lower end

kit. Preferably from an established reputable co.

the route you take and the parts you sellect will of course effect your results
increasing your displacement and compression, with a 383 kit is easily the least trouble for noticably increased torque.

but keep in mind youll get far more power if you add a correctly designed cam WITH that increased displacement and compression, and your STOCK heads and intake flow limits will quickly become a restriction to more power
