New leather wrap interior - is it worth the price?

According to Motor Trend the new leather wrap interior will cost
4,000 to 5,000 and the new Z06 - like exhaust will cost around
1,200 - Both are a little steep in my opinion.

Good-bye Leather wrap, Hello new exhaust.
Good by Leather wrap, Hello new exhaust.
Ouch :spanked: ....4 to 5K puts it right out of sane reach....especially since it's that much on top of the cost of a 3LT car....

Exhaust it is!

You are 100% correct - A loaded coupe with nav, onstar, chrome wheels,
Z-51, 3LT, transparent top, tint clearcoat, 6-sp auto, the exhaust and
leather wrap interior will approach an MSRP of 66k+- A vert will be about
75k and a loaded Z06 about 83-84k. All without any 08 model
year price increases
Damn $4-5k!!!!! You could get an aftermarket TOP notch job in leather & SUEDE everywhere including headliner, visors, a pillars, dash, Suede seats, etc..What a JOKE! GM SUX!! I've seen the pix, it's not worth the money!!  :rolling: :smack :agree: GM:buhbye:
I think that price is too high, my guess is that it's probably a little less than $2K for the interior.

I think that MotorTrend has it wrong ... my bet is 5K over base ... not over 3LT ...
Oh car magazines

That is what i am thinking too. it has to be over base and those that want the leather are probably wanting everything else that comes along with the packages.
Hopefully Motor Trend is wrong - it sure wouldn't be the first time. Since I've been paying more attention to the auto industry for the past year or two, I've noticed several glaring errors in their reporting, or just "guesses" that they present as "facts." They have very little credibility with me anymore - much less than their competitors.

And a thousand bucks for a better exhaust note and 6 horsepower? That doesn't really seem worth it either IMO.
Before we all sit here and do wild ass guesses for about 200 posts, here's how 2007's are priced (keep in mind there is no 1LT convertible):

Coupe 1LT: $45,075
Coupe 3LT: $50,020
Difference of $4945

Convertible 2LT: $53,415
Convertible 3LT: $58,955
Difference of $5540

So...my wild ass guess is that 4LT will be another $2K on top of 3LT.

Who cares about the price, get it off of Constarint GM!!

Holy crap! Just how many cows do they have to kill for each car??

:smack
Well, if you guys didn't see the pricing yesterday, it's $3500 for the leather dash of the 4LT over the 3LT's price. Motor Trend was high in its estimate, but almost right on with the price for the dual mode exhaust. Personally I'd forego both of them if I was buying a new one.

Doesn't seem to bother the aftermarket guys. More sound without much HP gain for $1K.
What I never understood though with options, is that they seem to be the cost of the new part without ever subtracting the cost of the part it is replacing.

Yes, you can get an aftermarket exhaust for the same price, but you have a current exhaust that you are removing. Granted you can't really sell if for much, but I am sure GM is saving some coin by not putting it on the car in the first place.

The other two that come to mind are the transparent targa and the polished rims. The prices seem to forget that you are replacing another part that is standard.

That almost guarantees the leather wrap will be a rare option that will add something (?) to long term value - probably not this much though. Wonder how well that leather dash will do in the South West? Internal car temps, esspecially in Az, Nv and NM, are brutal for more than 6 months out of the year.

By the time you add the cost of labor to install aftermarket exhausts this becomes a bargain - IF the benefits are the same as ... Corsa, BB, etc.
