New Mats won't "Snap" in...

I received my Genuine GM mats yesterday with the C6 Logo on them. Un-snapped the "Stock" mats, and tried to snap in the new mats...No snap, click, or other form of locking in these new mats like the originals....Is there a trick to these or what?

I have the same mats. Ebony with Crossflags. Tried hitting them with a mallet, tried stomping on them. They just dont want to snap in.

I'm going to take apart the stock ones, and see if the bottom piece from the stock mats would allow the GM ones to snap in.
