Latest commentary & pics 3/31/18:
GM Authority reader Bob, who took the shots, managed to get up close to the models. He said that the mid-engine Vettes “sound fantastic”, as you can verify from the most recent video of the sports car undergoing testing.
It does seem odd that ole "Bob" got that close and did not get any interior shots or shots with the light shining through some of the mesh cammo. Maybe ole "Bob" is a GM controlled leaker. Oh well. Beggars cannot be choosers.

I see a bunch of LED bulbs with no lenses that could end up being anything from round to C7-type t-lights. There is SO much they can do with lenses today, the possibilities are too vast to predict. Don't forget that the fascia t-light opening wraps around to the side, suggesting that the lens would also wrap to the side. Could the lens shapes under the surface make 4 round lights? Sure....or not :huh:

Looks like a similar front end to the C7 ZR1. Tail lights might be similar to C7 if that's the case, along with the rest of the styling cues.

Taillights look more like current Camaro taillights, but shorter in height and folded/creased horizontally and wrapped to the side of the car.

The Red circle clearly shows the turbos are NOT in the V like the Cadillac DOHC. That does not exclude the possibility of using some common parts - not heads of course, but maybe much of the bottom end?

The yellow lines show the shape of the taillights.

Try & Find out who is supplying the Twin Turbos for the C8 Longtimer.

Ceramic Ball Bearing equipped or Not.
Ceramic Ball Bearings are the Best.

Borg Warner Turbos.
Garrett Turbos.

Definite do not want china ebay turbos.

I'll keep my eyes peeled but doubt if we'll get that level of information before the C8 reveal. There's no guarantee that the Cadillac DOHC TT V6 engineering will be applied to the C8 DOHC TT V8, but I think it is safe to say that the Vette's turbos will not be any lower quality than the Cad V6 application.

The Cad TT V6 uses two Garrett turbos mounted low and outside of the engine. Cad describes them as "...low-inertia turbochargers’ featherweight titanium-aluminide turbines used with vacuum-actuated wastegate control for precise, responsive torque production. The titanium-aluminide turbines reduce rotating inertial load by more than 50 percent, compared with conventional Inconel turbine wheels. That means less exhaust energy – which spins the turbines – is wasted in stored inertial loads.

In practical terms, that means the relatively small size of the turbochargers and their lightweight turbines foster more immediate “spooling,” which practically eliminates lag, for an immediate feeling of power delivery. They produce up to 18 pounds of boost (125 kPa)."

We don't have this level of info on the "V" mounted turbos in the upcoming Cad TT V8.

Its High Temperature Titanium alloy.
Similar to 6AL4V but much better.
True Aerospace Titanium alloy on the Hot side Turbine.
Manley Calls it High Temp Orange Titanium on their premium Race Ti valves.
